Full newborn sessions are typically scheduled between 5 and 16 days after birth, while wrapped newborn sessions can be done up to 1 month old.

All newborn sessions are held at my Alma, MI studio, Monday through Friday only.

These are baby led poses, I don't do extensive posing that takes 30 mins, if they're not happy we move on, to keep session from being 4 hours long and an unhappy baby/parents.

FAQ

What Do I Need to Bring?

I provide everything you need for your studio newborn session—props, wraps, outfits, and backdrops are all included.
There’s no need to bring anything extra unless you have a special item you'd like to include, such as a meaningful blanket, heirloom wrap, or keepsake.

If you do plan to bring something, just let me know ahead of time so I can make sure it works well within the space. (The studio has an 8-foot backdrop setup, so oversized items may not fit.)

I'll take care of preparing everything to match your chosen colors and styling—just show up and snuggle in.

How long does the session take?

Session length can vary depending on the package you choose and how your baby is feeling that day.
As a general guideline:
• Wrapped sessions typically last around 1 hour
• Full newborn sessions may take up to 2 hours

Every baby is different—some settle quickly, while others need a bit more time. I always follow baby’s lead to ensure a safe, calm, and comfortable experience. Sessions may run a little shorter or a little longer, and that’s completely normal.

When is the best time to schedule?

For newborn sessions, I recommend booking during your second trimester.
While I typically wait until you've cleared the first trimester to secure a date, my calendar fills quickly—so I don’t suggest waiting until the last minute. Availability can be limited, and I want to make sure I can save space just for you!

What can I expect from a session?

Real talk—what you see on social media is the highlight reel.
What you don’t see? The diaper blowouts, the unexpected wide-awake stares, and the extra snack breaks.

Newborn sessions aren’t always perfectly sleepy and serene, and that’s totally okay. Accidents happen (usually more than one!), and some babies take a little time to settle or need to feed more often than usual—posing is hard work for them too!

I’ll guide you through it all with patience and flexibility. Whether baby is snoozing or wide-eyed, we’ll capture beautiful moments just as they are.

Your baby as Art


This optional add-on is available with any newborn session at booking. I will create one digital fine art image using a photo from your session—blending real-life detail with painterly textures, oil brush techniques, and digital artistry in Photoshop.

Each piece is created by hand and designed to be a one-of-a-kind surprise for my clients. You’re welcome to share a favorite image of mine for inspiration or suggest a theme you love—I’ll create something uniquely yours in a similar style.

If you’ve seen a digital backdrop you absolutely love, feel free to send it my way! I’ll do my best to incorporate it into your baby’s final fine art portrait if it fits your image and overall design.

These art pieces are a client favorite and a beautiful keepsake to showcase your newborn in a timeless, storybook way.
